The Fair of Hearts — Indian Run’s beloved Valentine’s tradition — is just two weeks away. Kelly and Scott Wesp and Susan Caviness have been working hard to make the event and the raffle as fun and memorable as possible.

The Fair of Hearts requires MANY parent volunteers! If you have volunteered to help at the Fair of Hearts, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.  If you haven’t yet signed up to volunteer but would like to, please CLICK HERE to sign up!

Indian Run at the Mongolian Grill

bd’s Mongolian Barbeque

Get a great meal and have fun! On Monday, February 6, six Indian Run staffers, including Mrs. Rinefierd, will be working the grill to help make your food. Join them as they prepare delicious stir fry meals, all for a good cause – the PTO and our kids! Bd’s is giving a portion of all ticket sales to the PTO! So come and support your PTO, enjoy a scrumptious meal and have fun watching some of our favorite IRE staffers behind the grill.

For this Indian Run FUNdraising Night, you must purchase tickets in advance. Tickets cost $16 for adults (13 and up) and cover one trip to the buffet, a soft drink, soup/salad, tax and tip. (You can purchase additional trips for a nominal cost.) Kids age 2 to 12 tickets are $10 for unlimited trips. It’s a great deal!

IRE Annual PTO Skating Party

Indian Run Ice-Skating Party
at the Dublin Chiller
President’s Day, February 20

Here’s a fun way to spend part of the kids’ day off from school – head to the Dublin Chiller for a morning of ice skating and fun. The annual PTO-sponsored Indian Run Ice-Skating Party will take place from 9:45 to 11:45 a.m. on February 20 (President’s Day).

The admission is only $5 per person (cash or check payable to the PTO; sorry we cannot take credit cards) and $2 for skate rentals (cash payable to the Chiller). Helmets are highly recommended and available at the Chiller.

All Indian Run students and their families are invited. Parents are encouraged to stay and supervise their children while skating.

Indian Run Family Phonebook Available

The Indian Run Family Phonebook is available! If you pre-paid the $2 for a hard  copy, your child should have brought it home this week. If you’d like a PDF version via email or if you’d like to pay $2 for a hard copy, please email Brandi Kirsch, who produced this year’s phonebook. Her email is  happy2be0603@yahoo.com. It looks great (thank you Brandi), and it’s a great resource for Indian Run families.

September PTO General Meeting Minutes

Meeting commenced at 10 AM
Attendance: Janet Rinefierd, Alicia Wolshire, Wendy Schwantes, Jennifer Maloney,  Sondra Workman, Robin Boggs, Jennifer Simonette, Brandi Kirsch, Lisa Mullins, Jodi Collins, Ajita Gupte, Amanda Dolfi, Melissa Smilonich, Stephanie Max & Mari Hayashi.

Introduction of members present at the meeting 
Wendy Schwantes presented the budget line by line and the net safety balance of $7500 was explained as what we want to keep in the PTO account for unforeseen needs or beginning of a new year expenses.  Budget was then approved. 
Robin Boggs (PERC Rep) passed out flyers for the Sept 14th PERC(Parents Encouraging Responsible Choices) meeting Sept 14th at the Rec Center. Ann Anzalone will be the speaker on “ Tools to help you and your kids optimize brain Power”
Jennifer Maloney went over the general calendar that will be included in the PTO packet that will come home with each student.
PTO volunteer opportunities were discussed and as follows:
Vice President: can be done jointly; not a ton of responsibility but with the understanding that they will take on the position of President the following year.
Bulletin Boards: Ajita Gupte volunteered to chair this committee.
Family phonebook: Brandi Kirsch volunteered to chair this committee.
Playground upkeep: Brandi Kirsch volunteered to chair this committee.
Spirit Wear: We still need a rep. The teachers are working on possible logos for Indian Run and then they are having the students vote on it.  Possibly can work this logo in conjunction with the Spirit Wear if we wait until the Winter.
Indian Run website: Committee chair position still open.

Janet: talked about the Good Schools Committee and their website.  They want everyone to get involved talking up and promoting the levy coming up on the November ballot. There will be a rally on 09/15/11 at 7 Pm at Dublin Scioto HS.  Their website address is http://gscdublin.org/
